This Show Reserve, a label bestowed upon Rosemount wines with outstanding regional and varietal character, exemplifies what top-notch Australian Shiraz is all about. A blend of grapes from two premier viticultural regions — McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek — the wine was aged 18 months in primarily new American and French oak. Full bodied and well balanced with fine tannins, the wine shows aromas of dark berries, toasty oak, earth, pepper and spice followed by ripe, rich fruit flavors of blackberry, red and black cherries, with more spice on the finish. Drink in the next two to five years. Good with pork, beef, duck, game and spicy dishes like jambalaya. Where to buy it: Dorignac's and Sam's Club in Kenner. Where to drink it: Bourbon House, Le Parvenu and Outback Steakhouses. (Listings current at press time.)
