Varla Jean Merman Loves a Foreign Tongue

comment
Varla Jean Merman has not been a stranger on local stages in the past year, including most recently in Scrooge in Rouge. This reprise is a welcome return from a one-night-only Halloween performance. Varla Jean Merman Loves a Foreign Tongue is the vamp's exotic travelogue gleaned from her work in places like Sydney's Opera House, Mexico, Austria and Baltimore. In song, dance and video, she's broadening her horizons and celebrating cultural insensitivity at the same time. This trip around the world should leave even the most seasoned traveler speechless. Varla has appeared on All My Children as Rosemary Chicken and toured with her own shows including I'm Not Paying for This, Girl With a Pearl Necklace, Holiday Ham!, The Very Worst of Varla Jean Merman and starred in the Big Easy award winner Shut Up! Sweet Charlotte. Tickets $32 (includes $5 drink credit.) — Will Coviello
