To Be in That Number

Mild changes in ticket prices help fans keep their seats.

When it comes to purchasing tickets to watch the (hopefully) improved New Orleans Saints in 2005, there's good news and there's bad news. First, the bad news: After three straight seasons of frozen ticket prices, the Saints felt the need to bump up season-ticket packages by $10 per game. That translates to a match of the NFL average of $65 per season ticket.

The good news is that, with what feels like such a nominal package increase, the average price of an individual game ticket slightly decreased and remains well below the NFL average. That's especially good news for the average fan who, while following the team and wanting to support the team, can still take that wait-and-see, a la carte approach to actually attending a game.

Individual game ticket prices are as follows: Club Sideline, $140; Plaza Sideline, $89; Club End Zone, $83; Upper Box Sideline, $80; Plaza End Zone, $74; Upper Box End Zone, $72; Terrace Sideline, $60; and Terrace End Zone, $35.

Tickets are available by calling the Saints ticket office in Metairie (731-1700). Individual tickets can also be purchased through the Saints Web site (www.neworleanssaints.com) or through Ticketmaster (522-5555 or www.ticketmaster.com).
