The Seafarer

comment
In wine (or whiskey) there is a lot more than truth for the men celebrating Christmas Eve together in The Seafarer. Set in the Dublin home of the Harkin brothers, the men share their poker game with an unexpected guest and plenty of booze, which drives them to bleary candor as the stakes rise. But is there a chance at redemption that can trump all their confessions? Irish writer Conor McPherson's play was a hit in London and on Broadway last year, and this is its regional premiere. Mark Routhier directs Drew Battles, John Bostic, Jim Fitzmorris, Mark McLaughlin and Shad Willingham. Tickets $18 for previews (Wed.-Fri.), $35 opening night (Sat.), $25 general admission (Sun.), $20 students/seniors (Sun.). — Will Coviello
