More than 50 categories of books, music and art prints will be available at the 56th Annual Symphony Book Sale hosted by Delgado Community College's Student Life Center to benefit the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. The event is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 13-14, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 15. Kids can fill a bag with their choice of books for a flat fee of $5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

During its grand opening on Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, Nadeau — Furniture with a Soul (2728 Magazine St., 891-1356; www.furniturewithasoul.com) will donate one-third of all sales to Make It Right's efforts to help rebuild the Lower 9th Ward.
