Ballin's Ltd. (721 Dante St., 866-4367; www.ballinsltd.com) is hosting a two-day trunk show to introduce the new fall line from Vitamin, which designs relaxed but sophisticated apparel in a range of colors and fabrics. Orders for special sizes will be available at the event, which is scheduled during regular business hours Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16.

Martin Wine Cellar (714 Elmeer Ave., Metairie, 899-7411; www.martinwine.com), which has used the Tasting Room as its office since Katrina, is reinstituting its wine tasting series during September and October. The tastings will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, with Cool California Chardonnay presented by Damien Abrusley and Donnas Landry. Cost is $25 a person.

Neophobia retro furnishings and decor store is moving to a new location this week. Owners Amanda Frank and Vic Loisel say the business will open at 2855 Magazine St. (899-2444; www.neophobia-nola.com), just eight blocks from its present location, on Sept. 17. The shop carries furniture, lighting, electronics, kitchen items and home accessories as well as retro fashion accessories.

Enjoy cocktails and free chips and salsa while you listen to Fredy Omar and his Latin Band from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the rooftop La Riviera bar at the Omni Royal Orleans hotel (621 St. Louis St., 529-7045; www.omnihotels.com) every Tuesday in September. Admission is free. In case of rain, the event will move to The Rib Room Bar.

Savvy Gourmet (4519 Magazine St., 895-2665; www.savvygourmet.com) is kicking off its fall cocktail classes with a cocktail party from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. Admission to the party is $35, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Tales of the Cocktail. The Sippin' At Savvy Friday afternoon Happy Hour cocktail class series begins Sept. 29, and classes will be held the last Friday of every month. Cost is $45 per class and includes instruction, ingredients, use of tools and snacks.

Whole Foods Market Arabella Station (5600 Magazine St., 899-9119; www.wholefoodsmarket.com) is offering 25 percent off all Dr. Hauschka skin-care products through Oct. 3. Dr. Hauschka, which features natural ingredients, some organically or biodynamically grown and harvested, is a favorite among celebrities and makeup artists because of its effectiveness in keeping the skin clear and balanced. It contains no artificial preservatives and comes in eco-conscious packaging.
