The Grand Isle Community Center (3811 Hwy. 1, Grand Isle, 985-787-3500) will host a free two-session presentation on managing stress from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 23. Guest speaker Dr. James S. Gordon, founder and director of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C., will tell attendees how deep breathing and listening and moving to music can help relieve stress symptoms such as insomnia, low energy, worrying and more. He also will explain the concept of food as medicine and how to detoxify your body nutritionally.
