Recycle for the Arts coordinator Elizabeth Underwood announced earlier this month that the Green Project was downsizing the program and removing Underwood as its coordinator. The Green Project's board of directors made the decision to cut the program due to a lack of funding, but Underwood encourages supporters to donate and assist the program, which may continue to offer a limited amount of resources to the arts community.
Recycle for the Arts offers salvaged art supplies, arts education and resources to artists and schools through its storefront. The program merged with the Green Project in 2003 and organized events like Worn Again, an annual runway fashion show and fundraiser showcasing local designers' haute couture made from recycled materials. — Alex Woodward
