"We've got to repeal it. Take it out by its roots. The whole thing needs to go." — Gov. Bobby Jindal, telling the National Review's Jim Geraghty about his proposal to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and replace it with a plan from America Next, the policy think tank he founded.
National Review's Ramesh Ponnuru, an Obamacare foe, praised part of Jindal's proposal, but balked at creating a standard deduction "to create a level playing field between employer-provided and individually-purchased insurance." Ponnuru concluded, "Replacing Obamacare with this plan would probably result in millions of people losing their coverage, and I think that would doom it."
