Dr. Patrick C. Breaux, director of cardiology at Ochsner Hospital, was installed as the new president of the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS) during the group's annual meeting of its House of Delegates Jan. 29-30. Breaux is the 130th president of the LSMS.
Breaux, who also is section head of consultative cardiology at Ochsner, graduated from Tulane School of Medicine, then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Charity Hospital before opening a private practice in eastern New Orleans that closed after Hurricane Katrina. He is an associate clinical professor of medicine at Tulane and Louisiana State University New Orleans.
