No Babies at the Interim LSU Public Hospital

comment

The Interim LSU Public Hospital discontinued its labor and delivery services Aug. 1, and also plans to close its three newborn nurseries, including one for neonatal intensive care. A spokeswoman for LSU says the cuts are due in part to state budget cuts.

LSU turned over its labor and delivery functions to the Family Birthing Center at Touro Infirmary (1401 Foucher St.), and Tulane will move its services to Tulane Lakeside Hospital (4700 I-10 Service Road, Metairie).

LSU and Tulane physicians will continue to see obstetrics and gynecology patients at their outpatient clinics at 2100 Perdido St. — Kandace Power Graves
