Made in Mobile : A Group Exhibition of Leading Mobile Artists

comment
During the dark days last autumn, when most of this city's residents were still scattered far and wide, Space 301, Mobile, Ala.'s, equivalent to our Contemporary Arts Center, premiered an exhibition called Made In New Orleans. Featuring work by some of our leading artists, it celebrated and perpetuated the creative spirit of the Crescent City at a time when its future was far from certain. Now Loyola University's expansive Diboll Gallery reciprocates with Made in Mobile, a selection of work by some of that city's leading contemporary artists. And an eclectic assortment it is, featuring media ranging from painting, ceramics and sculpture to glass and fiber arts, all reflecting the gracious, inquisitive and buoyant joie de vivre of our sister metropolis in Alabama. -- D.
