Method Man and Redman
Tue. Nov. 18 | On the one hand, there's Blackout!; on the other, How High. Together, Method Man and Redman have made some of the meanest hip-hop of their era; they've also gotten the munchies and giggle fits. This "Smoker's Tour" promises a little of both. B-Real, Berner and Mick Jenkins open at 9 p.m. at House of Blues.
Thu. Nov. 20 | Fans may recognize comic Chris D'Elia as the lead on the sitcom Whitney or from his Comedy Central special White Male Black Comic, which was recorded at the Civic Theatre in April 2013. He returns to the Civic Theatre at 8:30 p.m.
Tribute to Dr. Norman C. Francis
Fri. Nov. 21 | Stephanie Jordan, John Boutte, Wanda Rouzan and James Andrews perform at a tribute to Xavier University President Norman C. Francis, who will retire in June 2015. The event benefits Xavier's scholarship fund. At 7:30 p.m. at Xavier University Convocation Center.
Sat. Nov. 22 | In the wake of May's unholy corpse-reviving self-titled assault, Eyehategod — a 20-year-old sludge metal mammoth that is showing no signs of slowing down after the death of drummer Joseph LaCaze last year — returns to New Orleans for a homecoming gig to wrap a two-month-long fall tour. Pig Destoyer, Ossacrux and Fat Stupid Ugly People open at 10 p.m. at One Eyed Jacks.
Garfunkel and Oates
Sat. Nov. 22 | Pulling their name from the mother of all pop-culture fantasy-league trade proposals, L.A. musical-comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates (Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci) graduated from the Upright Citizens Brigade to an almost-HBO show, an actual IFC show (Going Solo Together) and a series of awesomely raunchy records (Slippery When Moist). At 7 p.m. at House of Blues.
