Phone sex became a form of safe sex during the onset of the AIDS scare in the early 1980s. In Robert Chesley's Jerker, a series of phone exchanges blossom into a real relationship for an otherwise unlikely couple in San Francisco. The play's explicit dialogue drew complaints from social conservatives and the work was cited in an FCC review of its regulations. (9 p.m. Thu.-Sat.; Marigny Theatre, 2240 St. Claude Ave., tickets $12.)
