There's a fitting bit of symmetry to this Park the Van Records showcase. In 2004, Chris Watson founded the indie-rock imprint in New Orleans with Philadelphia's Dr. Dog as its charter band. After three post-Katrina years of Philadelphia-based operation, Watson moved the label back to the Crescent City in December with his first Louisiana signing in tow: the Peekers, a Shreveport sextet weaned on Dr. Dog's sweetly shaggy, '60s-feting pop rock. Fate, Dr. Dog's 2008 offering, continues the band's winning streak with a new slate of Lennon/McCartney love letters full of springy piano and bass, honeyed harmonies and slow-burning stomps. Led by torch singer Brittney Maddox, the Peekers preview the most swinging tunes from Life in the Air, the band's upcoming March debut. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the door. — Noah Bonaparte Pais
