Deliverance at the Ogden

by

Some classics should never be touched. Ever. Like Deliverance, John Boorman's 1972 film adaptation of James Dickey's novel about Atlanta businessmen trekking in the backwoods. It spawned the iconic association of certain banjo chords with the prospect of degradation at the hands of deviant hillbillies. The Ogden Museum, however, heads back into the woods with the director's cut of Deliverance (8 p.m. Saturday) accompanied by a live musical score by the New Orleans Bingo! Show's Clint Maedgen and cellist Helen Gillet. Call 539-9616 for reservations. Tickets $15 general admission, free for Ogden members.
