Bustout Burlesque

comment
Bustout Burlesque will be unstuffing some stockings in its holiday show. Modeled after the burlesque shows popular in New Orleans from the days of Kitty West (aka Evangeline the Oyster Girl, who graced the pages of Life magazine in the late '40s) through the '50s, the troupe includes solo dancers, a live band, a master of ceremonies who doubles as a magician and singers. Anais St. John will sing during the early show and Debbie Davis will handle the nightcap. Performers include Stormy Gale (pictured), Kitty Twist unwrapping a holiday treat, Roxy LaRouge in a ballerina act the kids won't be seeing in any rendition of the Nutcracker Suite, plus Black Pearl and Foxy Rockefeller. There's also the puppet act of Harry Mayronne and Miss Viola and a toy drive/raffle because the holidays are all about the children, even if this show is for ages 18-up. Tickets $20. — Will Coviello
