The Alliance Francaise is hosting cooking classes from July 7-10 in anticipation of Bastille Day July 14 (though the New Orleans celebration is July 12). Participants will visit four different culinary areas of France over the four-day span, including Pays Basque, Bretagne, Bourgogne and Provence.
Moules a la creme fraiche, poulet basquaise and tarte provencal are just a handful of the dishes instructor Brigitte Gomane will teach students to prepare. Classes are $70 each for the public and $60 each for Alliance Francaise members. If you take all four classes, you get $20 off. In addition to learning how to make classic French dishes, you can also pick up conversational French and enjoy a glass of wine while the food cooks.
