The LSU baseball team is hot — super hot — and it could not come at a better time. LSU bats once again came to life this morning as the Tigers baseball team scorched Vanderbilt 11-1 in the SEC baseball matchup. The game was called after seven innings due to a run rule.
LSU starting pitcher Jared Poche went 7 innings, giving up one run and five hits to earn his 9th win of the year. Alex Bregman led the Tiger hitting attack with three hits, and five RBIs with three of those coming on a monster home run in the 4th inning.
With today's win over Vanderbilt, the 8th ranked Tigers (41-14-1) move to the winner's bracket. Their next game will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon against the winner of the Ole Miss-Arkansas contest, which will be played later today.
