The three-day Sync Up Cinema conference includes a full schedule of discussions, screenings, and networking events designed to better connect local independent filmmakers with their Hollywood counterparts and showcase regional independent films. A co-presentation of the New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC) and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Foundation, the conference starts today, Monday, April 28, and runs through Wednesday, April 30, at the New Orleans Museum of Art. All events are free and open to the public.
Conference highlights include panel discussions on how to navigate the film festival circuit and writing for Hollywood. Screenings will spotlight the best Louisiana-made short films from recent festivals, local features Vanishing Pearls, Bayou Maharajah, The Whole Gritty City, and A Tribute to Toussaint, and Go For Sisters, a new film by John Sayles (Eight Men Out, Lone Star).
