Fans of the popular competitive cooking show Top Chef will have a special place to view this Wednesday's episode: Restaurant R'evolution. The John Folse and Rick Tramonto-helmed eatery will be celebrating its appearance on the popular reality series, which has been based in New Orleans this season.
The episode (a preview of which you can see here) divides the remaining six competing chefs into two teams, which will compete in a "Spanish versus French" challenge based in R'evolution's kitchen, looking to impress celebrity guest judge Jacques Pépin. Both Folse and Tramonto will be in attendance, and the restaurant's crafty mixologists have even fashioned a one-night-only special cocktail for the event, a "Blood Orange Belle Epoque."
Throughout the current season, the series has highlighted a number of notable local restaurants, chefs and food personalities, including Leah Chase, John Besh, Paul Prudhomme, Tory McPhail, Lally Brennan, Ti Martin, Susan Spicer, and more. It has also included trips to farms and swamps, a Halloween party at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World, and, naturally, a lot of sweat and panic in the kitchen.
"Chef-testants" this time through include two locals, Galatoire's Michael Sichel and Justin Devillier of La Petite Grocery, however no spoilers will be posted here for those who haven't caught up on the season's action.
The event will take place at Restaurant R'evolution, which is located at 777 Bienville Street, on Wednesday January 8, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.
