Festival organizers announced The Cure will join the headlining lineup at this year's Voodoo Experience, alongside previously announced acts Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails.

The English post-punk band, fronted by Robert Smith, was founded in the late-'70s and is responsible for a solid string of influential, romantic gothic pop albums and singles, from the landmark 1980 sophomore LP Seventeen Seconds to 1989's remarkable Disintegration and its recent "comeback" efforts.

Though riddled with transformative periods and brief hiatuses, the band has performed some of its largest gigs in recent years, from performing entire albums in hours-long concerts to headlining massive festivals around the globe. It most recently performed this month at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

The 2013 Voodoo Experience is Nov. 1-3 at City Park. Find more lineup information here.
