Running of the bulls - Pamplona and New Orleans

The first Running of the Bulls happened Sunday, July 7, in Pamplona, Spain, where there's a bull run every day for eight days. The raw footage above shows a bunch of bulls who seem to want nothing more than to stay clear of the runners. One bull doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry and (at about the 2:45 mark) gets turned around, leaving him undecided about which direction to go. Several brave or crazy runners try to taunt him onto the correct path. Since 1924, 15 people have died while running with the bulls.

There also are some amazing photos from Pamplona events here. The British paper Metro also has an impressive gallery from this year's run.

San Fermin in Nueva Orleans holds its Running of the NOLA Bulls at 8 a.m. Saturday, beginning at and returning to the Sugar Mill. (More info here.) There's a pre-party Friday at the Sugar Mill and other events, include a wine dinner Thursday. Registration is required to enter the festival grounds, where there are bars, food trucks and entertainment after the run.
