Social media has been the preferred method for finding food trucks in New Orleans. But lately just checking in with the doings of local culinary event company My House has been a pretty reliable tool too.
My House has been organizing food truck festivals and lunchtime gatherings around town, each drawing a sampling of vendors for what amount to temporary food truck food courts.
There’s a CBD Food Truck Round-Up planned for lunchtime today (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) outside the café Merchant. The trucks Brigade Coffee, NOLA Girl Food, Empanada Intifada, Rue Chow, and Frencheeze will be parked along the 800 block of Common Street for this edition.
Two more CBD events are planned on March 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on March 15, for an extended happy hour slot from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the same location.
Another is scheduled for next Saturday, March 9, at the Warehouse District watering hole the Rusty Nail. The eight participating trucks include Foodie Call, Rue Chow, La Cocinita, BBQ n' Some, NOLA Girl Food, the Fat Falafel, Frencheeze and Brigade Coffee. The event is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and T’Canaille performs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
