John T. Edge has won a couple of Beard Foundation awards while covering a wide array of food topics for The New York Times Magazine, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, NPR and other media outlets. He also is the director of the Southern Foodways Alliance. His most recent project is a cookbook featuring recipes from food trucks across the nation. As the food truck trend has spread across the country, he's sought out some of the more famous and exotic mobile food vendors. There are recipes for everything from breakfast waffle tacos to Taiwanese fried chicken to sweet potato cupcakes. Edge will sign copies of the book at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden District Book Shop. Local food truck Taceaux Loceaux will be there as well.
