DISCLAIMER: In no way are we trying to invade anyone’s privacy, but it’s fun to hear about the places celebrities are visiting while they’re hanging out in New Orleans. We’re appreciative of the people who are way more famous than we’ll ever be for visiting our city and state, spending their money, and sometimes even contributing to our rebuilding and recovery efforts.
That being said…
Scott Speedman of Felicity and Underworld fame was enjoying an evening at Sylvain right before Easter, and was also spotted at Jammin’ on Julia on April 7th. Speedman is in town filming the movie Barefoot with Evan Rachel Wood and Treat Williams. It looks like the film is going to be about a patient in psych ward (Wood) who falls in love with a doctor (Speedman).
Taking a break from filming Django Unchained, the new Quentin Tarantino flick, Samuel L. Jackson took in a round of golf at City Park. Jackson is an avid golfer, and we’re glad he was able to spend a Sunday in our awesome City Park. Speaking of Sundays, Tarantino celebrated Easter Sunday with friends, having brunch at Patois on Laurel street.
Aziz Ansari will soon become a permanent fixture in the New Orleans social scene. After having so much fun serving as emcee for Brad Pitt’s A Night to Make It Right After Party, he’s added New Orleans as one of the stops on his comedy tour, coming to the Mahalia Jackson Theatre on June 19th, and has also signed on to appear in the New Orleans-shot movie The Apocalypse. The movie will start filming in a month or so and will co-star Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel. It’s going to be a funny summer!
Finally, if you don’t have plans on Tuesday, April 17th, head over to Brooks Brothers in Canal Place to meet Brad Goreski, star of Bravo’s It’s a Brad, Brad World. The Hollywood stylist will be meeting fans and signing his new book, Born to be Brad. Should make for a great photo op!
More fun next week!
