VH1's Tough Love casting in New Orleans

  • VH1
A recent trend in reality TV involves shows in which brutally honest relationship experts shame women (and men, but mostly women) into confronting their flaws so they may find love. Among the most popular of these shows — besides Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker, starring matchmaker-monster Patti Stanger — is VH1's Tough Love hosted by the relatively benign, but nonetheless blunt, "master matchmaker" Steven Ward (and sometimes his mom, JoAnn, lends her expertise). Are you looking for love and don't mind being embarrassed on a popular television network in the process of finding it? Tough Love is casting in New Orleans this week.

The show is looking for men living in the Gulf Coast area to take female cast members out on dates on the show. Prospective men must be, of course, "charming" and "adventurous" (and also single and at least 21 years old). The women they are looking for to be victims of participate in the "relationship bootcamp" format of the show must "appear" to be ages 23-39 and the type of girls who may be "too much for the average man to handle."

The men's casting call is tomorrow, Dec. 8 at the bar at Jackson Brewery Bistro Bar from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the women's casting call is at the same location Friday, Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. More info is here. You can also email tony@cornwellcasting.com with questions.
