First there was Champion's Square and now Champion's Square has Club XLIV, the New Orleans Saints' latest foray into the 21st Century trend of teams outfitting their stadiums with places that have little to nothing to do with the sport being played in the arena.
Ostensibly named after the Saints' Super Bowl win (Lombardi Gras forever! WHOOOO!), the club features chic white couches, lots of shiny glass decor, random objets d'art and flatscreens so you can "watch" the Saints pre-game shows.
But wait, there's more! This one is open to the public! Well, at least it will be. Once. During a preseason game.
Per the press release:
For the September 1st game only club XLIV will be open to the public free of admission! Enjoy a cash bar and watch the pregame broadcast in the air-conditioned comfort of this luxury private lounge. Food by Pigeon caterers will be available for purchase in the club.
Once the regular season starts, you'll have to buy your tickets to get access to the club. Ticket area available for the full season (for $360 to $400 depending on when you buy them) and on a game-by-game basis (for $55 a person). The pre-game lounge will feature complimentary wine, beer and food and is perfect for anyone who thinks their Superdome gameday experience lacks that Manhattan nightclub feel.
