Listen: Gambit's free music Friday

  • Brian Baiamonte
  • Generationals

Park the Van has a free Generationals EP, Medium Rarities, on its website. The New Orleans pop group's EP has two remixes, a new song and a "summer jam." Download it here.

Jay Electronica announced this week he has finished recording Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn). The New Orleans-born, Magnolia projects-raised rapper landed on Jay-Z's Roc Nation label last year. The album will follow 2007's masterful Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge). Grab his Jay-Z collaboration, "Shiny Suit Theory."

Opposable Thumbs and Mahayla are at Tipitina's, 10 p.m. tomorrow.

Below the jump, the video for Opposable Thumbs' four-on-the-floor, summer-y punk rock jam "Off the Hook" and more free music:

Creepy Fest concludes its several weekends-long stint this weekend: Friday at Check Point Charlie, Saturday at Siberia, and a free show Sunday at The Saint, with Dummy Dumpster, We're Only in It for the Honey, Indian Givers, Slutever, Terranova and DJs Pasta and Penetrol.

Slutever, apart from having a ridiculously good bad band name, are a sloppy pop-punk duo from Philadelphia. Stream, or download their EP, here — name your price.

If you missed it earlier this week, grab Lil Wayne's comeback mixtape (and Tha Carter IV's pre-release placeholder) Sorry 4 the Wait here.

And just because: Here's the Fugazi and Wu-Tang Clan mashup you didn't know you wanted.
