39th annual Tour de Louisiane



This weekend, apart from the anticipated matchup between England and the United States in the 2010 World Cup, cyclists in the metro area will participate in the 39th annual Tour de Louisiane

longest-running bicycle stage race in the country

series of three races, winner determined by total elapsed time

New Orleans Bicycle Club

officiated through USA Cycling and the Louisiana-Mississippi Bicycle Racing Association

races for five age- and skill-graded classes

Road Races, morning, 80 miles through Folsom, La.

evening, Individual Time Trial in Mandeville, three miles, test of pure speed

Sunday morning, the Criterium race, circuit testing bike handling, explosiveness

club founded in 1880, build clubhouse in 1891, at corner of Baronne and Peniston streets. It reorganized in 1968, and the Tour de Louisiane began soon after.
