Congratulations to longtime Times-Picayune-r Lynn Cunningham, who's been named the paper's online editor:

In her new job, Cunningham, 58, will coordinate and direct The Times-Picayune's content on NOLA.com, the newspaper's affiliated Web site.

Cunningham has been assistant to the editor since 1993. She joined The Times-Picayune staff in 1977. During her tenure at the paper she has been a reporter and an assistant city editor. A graduate of St. Mary's Dominican High School and the University of New Orleans, Cunningham is a native of New Orleans.

This follows James O'Byrne's shift from features editor to "director of content" for nola.com back in February.

We'll be eager to see if Cunningham has any influence on the rancidity of nola.com's comments and forums that is so often graffiti-ed on the, but in the meantime she's got a job to do making sure they spell her name right:

Lynn
