Jazz Fest announced today that Neil Young - long on Quint Davis' public talent wish list - has been added to the lineup for the 2009 Jazz & Heritage Festival. The Canadian legend will be rocking in the free world at the fairgrounds on Sunday, May 3. In 2007, he contributed a track - "Walking To New Orleans" - to the star-studded tribute to Fats Domino released by the Tipitina's Foundation.
In other news, Aretha Franklin, previously booked for Sunday the 3, will not be appearing at Jazz Fest. To ease the disappointment, unconfirmed rumors suggest that Young will wear an elaborate hat.
