Your final chance to catch Prospect.1 art shows and installations is this weekend. The international art biennial officially closes on Sunday, Jan. 18 (though some shows are extended, like Iranian filmmaker Shirin Neshat's work at Tulane University's Newcomb Art Gallery). The final week includes several special events: An oral history of the Mardi Gras Indian tribe Fi Yi Yi tonight at NOMA (6 p.m.-8 p.m.); The SweetArts ball at the CAC Friday night with international performing groups (9 p.m.-midnight); a second-line parade Saturday at NOMA (1 p.m.) with the Original Big 7 Social Aid and Pleasure Club; a panel discussion with artists at Louisiana Artworks Sunday morning (10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.); and a Salon discussion at the Hefler Warehouse Sunday afternoon (4 p.m.-7 p.m.) with Prospect.1 creator Dan Cameron, artists Willie Birch, Skylar Fein, Tony Fitzpatrick and McCallum and Tarry, and others. After the final salon there will be a second-line parade to the CAC.
