Brown's Hash

It looks like CNN has found its Bill O’Reilly. Or Keith Olbermann. Or … Kill O’Rolbermann. In two surprisingly direct segments on Election Center this week, Campbell Brown has turned toward the oft-neglected third camera and delivered frank editorials about what ought to be very obvious concerns for all Americans. On Monday, Brown railed against the McCain campaign for its kid-glove treatment of Sarah Palin, including its insulting 29-second UN media session and unprecedented demands of "deference" from meanie reporters. "Tonight I call on the McCain campaign to stop treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment," Brown stated forcefully, adding that McCain had bound Palin with a "chauvinistic chain." (I’d argue that McCain has finally and rightly realized there is a dangerously combustible gas trapped inside his running mate’s cranium, and that the chain is actually a channel lock. But, tomato, tomahto.) Last night, it was the Bushies’ turn on the crank. "Secretary Paulson," O'Rolbermann flared, "frankly, you didn't help the situation with your initial imperious request to Congress that you be handed this money and that your decisions on what to do with it — your language here — ‘may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.’ Seriously, what were you thinking?" Roughly translated with the Yo' Mama Rosetta Stone: "Bail this out, sucka." Hank, I’m no authority on disses, but I do believe you just got served.
