Assessor Erroll Williams Speaks

New Orleans' first modern-day citywide assessor, Erroll Williams, will discuss his plans for addressing the issues confronting his office at an informational meeting on April 27 sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New Orleans. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church, 3900 St. Charles Ave. A League press release says parking will be available on Pitt Street. Williams will discuss completion of the 2012 quadrennial citywide reassessment, ending inequities in the assessment process, transferring paper records to a searchable database, hiring qualified assessors and combining the seven assessor offices into one. — Clancy DuBos
