France's largest wine appellation, the Cotes de Provence region, comprises 50,000 acres of noncontiguous vineyards spread over hillsides and coastal ranges, primarily planted to produce rose wine. With sunny days and cool evenings, the Mediterranean climate encourages slow ripening of grapes. A blend of 50 percent grenache, 30 percent cinsault and 20 percent syrah, this wine was aged on its lees at low temperatures for two months before bottling. In the glass, it offers aromas of fresh flowers, citrus, pear and white peach. On the palate, taste strawberry, cherry and raspberry with mineral and spice notes.
