2004 Finca Labajos Ibero Tinto

Castilla y Leon, Spain / $14 Retail

This value-priced bottle comes from a 300-year-old family-owned property in Spain's largest wine-producing area. It's a medium-bodied blend of 50 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 percent Merlot and 20 percent Syrah. The wine offers complex red and black fruit bouquets accented by cedar and earth notes. Decant an hour before serving. It's a good accompaniment to roasted winter vegetables such as eggplant, squash and peppers, stews, roasted fowl, saucy seafood dishes, spicy meats, mushrooms, pasta dishes, Manchego and other firm cheeses. Buy it at: Swirl Wines. Drink it at: Rambla. — Brenda Maitland
